Temporary changes to traffic conditions will be clearly marked for all road users and managed through traffic control.

Extensive traffic analysis and time travel surveys are conducted by Thiess John Holland to ensure traffic flow and capacity is maintained throughout construction of the projects.

BOWEN HILLS

Inner City Bypass changes
Changes to the Inner City Bypass on and off ramps from Lutwyche Road will include:

  • On ramp: New Inner City Bypass connection from Lutwyche Road southbound open to motorists  >More info

Lutwyche Road/Cedric Street (formerly referred to as Federation Street) intersection access changes
The traffic signals at the intersection of Cedric Street and Lutwyche Road have been commissioned allowing vehicle access from Cedric Street to northbound Lutwyche Road. The following access changes have been implemented:

  • The left turn to Lutwyche Road southbound and from Lutwyche Road into Cedric Street has been maintained
  • The right turn to Lutwyche Road northbound from Cedric Street has opened
  • Pedestrian crossings on Cedric Street and Lutwyche Road are now open.

Federation and Addison Streets, Windsor
Roads closed 50 metres east and north from the corner - from January 2009 to mid 2012.

Campbell Street traffic changes
From 17 September 2010 traffic changes will commence in Campbell Street to enable construction of the Campbell Street bridge, which will connect with the Airport Link tunnel when complete. Changes will include:

  • Campbell St will become one way westbound between the Mayne Rd intersection and Tufton St
  • Installation of temporary traffic signage

LUTWYCHE / WINDSOR

Bonython Street temporary closure
From Tuesday, 3 January 2012 Bonython Street will be temporary closed at Grafton Street until late January 2012.

Truro Street - local access only
From Monday, 21 November 2011, Truro Street will be local access only to enable completion work.

Truro Street u-turn closed
From Monday 23 May 2011 the u-turn at the southern end of Truro Street will be permanently closed as part of the final design for the Northern Busway project.

Lutwyche Road – widening
Lutwyche Road is being widened between Fuller and Fosbery Streets. This work has also resulted in the permanent closure of Fosberry Street.

Stoneleigh Lane closure
Stoneleigh Lane is currently closed for construction of the Northern Busway (Windsor to Kedron).

Bus stop 18 - Fuller St is currently closed.

Bradshaw Street east closed
Bradshaw Street, east of Lutwyche Rd has closed permanently to traffic for construction and operation of the new Lutwyche Busway Station. Motorists and pedestrians can detour via Chalk Street and the surrounding road network.

Bus stop 21 outbound, Felix Street - Closed
Passengers are advised to access northbound routes from Bus Stop 22 - Norman Street and Bus Stop 20 - Thistle Avenue.

Bus stop 22 outbound, Norman Street
This bus stop has been relocated 30 metres south of the Norman Avenue/ Lutwyche Road intersection.

Pathway Changes
Lutwyche Road western footpath is closed. Detour via the eastern footpath accessible at the Chalk St, Norman Ave and Kedron Park Rd signalised intersections.

KEDRON

Traffic changes at Leckie Rd and Cremorne Rd
From 4 January 2012 widening work will continue along Gympie Road between Cremorne Road and Broughton Road to allow for construction of the Airport Link and Northern Busway tunnel portals.  This work will involve:

  • The temporary closure of Leckie Road at Gympie Road for approximately three months
  • The temporary removal of the left turn from Gympie Road into Cremorne Road
  • The temporary removal of the right turn from Gympie Road into Sadlier Street.  A right turn and u-turn is available at Castle Street.

Gymipe/Stafford Rd intersection changes
The Gympie/Stafford Road intersection has been moved south-west onto its permanent alignment:

  • A left turn only from Swan Street to Stafford Road is open
  • Brookfield Road has been reopened at Gympie Road
  • A u-turn facility has been introduced at the intersection, for eastbound traffic on Stafford Road.

Clarence Road temporary closure
Clarence Road at Kedron will temporarily close on Monday 16 January at 8pm, between Stafford Road and Brookfield Road for approximately 3 weeks, weather permitting. This closure is required to complete drainage work within the area during day time construction hours. Driveway access to residents in Clarence Road will still be available.

Suez Street
Closed permanently at Gympie Road.

Figgis Street
Figgis Street will be closed at Stafford Road from 3 January 2012 for approximately 12 weeks.

Glenfern Avenue
Glenfern Avenue will be partially closed at Stafford Road from 3 January 2012 for approximately 12 weeks.

Somerset Road
Closed until March 2012.

Gympie Road
Temporary realignment of northbound traffic between Leckie Road and Somerset Road.

Southbound Gympie Road has been reduced from three to two lanes for approximately 350m from south of Somerset Road to north of Leckie Road.

Arnott Street
Permanent closure at Leckie Road. Access to and from Leckie Road will be via Glen Kedron Lane.

Park Terrace
Temporarily closed at Gympie Road. Access to and from Gympie Road will be via Leckie Road until mid 2012.

Lasseter Street
Lasseter Street has permanently closed to traffic for construction and operation of the Airport Link Project.

Footpath changes - Gympie Road north
From Wednesday, 4 January 2012 work will commence between 233 Gympie Road and Leckie Road to install the permanent footpath alignment. To facilitate this work, the footpath needs to be closed in this location for approximately 8 to 10 weeks. Directional signage will be in place to direct footpath users.

Kedron Brook Pathway
The Kedron Brook Pathway is detoured to the northern bank of the Kedron Brook. Access to Gympie Road and the Kedron Brook bus stop is via the northern bank.

Bus Stop 28 (Gorman Street) and Bus Stop 27 (Park Road)
Temporarily relocated to a combined stop outside 5 Kent Road (approaching McIntyre Street) due to construction of the Northern Busway.

Bus stop 26 outbound (Broughton Road) - closed
Bus services will be available from bus stop 25 (outbound) located south of Brookfield Road.


TOOMBUL

Widdop Street
A temporary signalised intersection is in operation at Widdop Street, north of the East West Arterial bridge. This intersection allows construction vehicles to cross Widdop Street to a purpose built construction access road.

Pathway Changes
The Sandgate Road western footpath, located between the Centro Toombul intersection and the Sandgate Road/East West Arterial Road intersection, remains closed until project completion in mid-2012. Pedestrians are to detour via the existing pedestrian facilities on the eastern side of Sandgate Road and the Sandgate Road underpass. > Refer to map

The Widdop Street western footpath is temporarily closed. A pedestrian refuge island has been constructed at Widdop Street to assist pedestrians to access the eastern footpath.

Kalinga Park pathway between Diggers' Dve, Jackson St, Stuckey Rd, Sandgate Rd and Widdop St is closed.  Pedestrians and cyclists will detour via the Schulz Canal Northern Pathway and Sandgate Rd and/or Kedron St and Kalinga St.  >View community notice and map 

AIRPORT ROUNDABOUT UPGRADE

The Airport Roundabout Upgrade project reached practical completion on 1 July 2011 and has officially been handed over to the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
