Thiess John Holland is undertaking the design and construction of Airport Link, Northern Busway (Windsor to Kedron) and Airport Roundabout Upgrade - Australia's largest infrastructure project.
Design and construction of this integrated transport solution, within the densely populated environment of inner-city Brisbane and the northern suburbs, represents one of the most challenging engineering feats in Queensland's history:
- 25 bridges
- 15 km of tunnelling
- Over 7km of new road
This priority transport infrastructure for Queensland will create more than 10,000 direct and indirect jobs.
On its journey from the city to Brisbane' north and east to the airport, the project alignment influences a large number of suburbs which have been grouped within five key precincts:
Bowen Hills; Windsor-Lutwyche; Kedron; Toombul and Airport Roundabout.
Construction of the Airport Link and Northern Busway (Windsor to Kedron) project is scheduled for completion in mid 2012, with the Airport Roundabout Upgrade completed in late 2011.
