Completed February 2011 - 9 months ahead of schedule
Motorists are now saving more than 10 minutes in peak hour traffic at Brisbane's airport roundabout following construction of the Airport Roundabout Upgrade - the solution to one of Brisbane's biggest bottlenecks.
A new 750m flyover bridge connecting East West Arterial Road to Airport Drive has dramatically improved traffic flow to and from the airport.
Underneath the flyover, the roundabout has been replaced with a highly efficient, signalised fast diamond intersection which motorists are able to cross in half the time it used to take to get through the roundabout.
