Environment

Design and construction of the projects follow a comprehensive Environmental Management Plan, incorporating appropriate environmental management and protection practices.

Our project team is committed to protecting the existing environment and managing environmental impacts during construction.

Through innovative urban design, there will also be opportunities for the project to enhance the surrounding environment with the creation of significant areas of new landscape.

Protecting the existing environment

• Relocating reptile, bird and mammal species impacted by the project works

• Establishing protection zones for significant vegetation and fauna

• Implementing extensive erosion and sedimentation control measures

Enhancing the environment

Through the creation of significant areas of landscape and urban design:

• Constructing a land bridge to improve connectivity between existing Toombul residential areas, the railway station and the bus interchange

• Waterway improvements to parts of Breakfast Creek, including restoration of the natural bank edge using appropriate natural planting and edge stabilisation

• Boulevard and streetscape improvements across the project alignment

• Parkland and recreational upgrades to Kalinga Park and along Schulz Canal, including an extended pedestrian and cycle pathway

• Constructing a land bridge and hilltop recreation park connecting Mann Park and Northey Street parkland at Bowen Hills, with magnificent city views.
