Traffic Changes
Select a precinct from the map below to view current changes on roads, pathways and bus routes along the project alignment.
Temporary changes to traffic conditions will be clearly marked for all road users and managed through traffic control.
Extensive traffic analysis and time travel surveys are conducted by Thiess John Holland to ensure traffic flow and capacity is maintained throughout construction of the projects.

BOWEN HILLS
Lutwyche Road
Southbound Lutwyche Road will be realigned west from approximately Bryden Street to south of Federation Street.
Lutwyche Road has been realigned east from Breakfast Creek to Newmarket Road, Bowen Hills including:
- Closure of the northbound fast lane
- Lane narrowing and realignment
- Barrier installation in the median
The southbound, kerbside lane of Lutwyche Road is closed from Cartwright Street to the Inner City Bypass on-ramp.

Inner City Bypass On-Ramp
Changes to the Inner City Bypass on-ramp from Lutwyche Road will include:
- realignment of the existing merge alignment to the west
- a change of the merge direction from a left side merge to a right side merge
Gallway Street
The Gallway Street extension from Lutwyche Road is currently open to east bound traffic only.
Access from Lutwyche Road to Federation Street and Gallway Street is via Bryden Street.
From mid February the Gallway Street extension will open to both directions of travel.
Weight restriction
There will be a 5 tonne maximum weight restriction for vehicles travelling the extended Gallway Street until the south bound tunnel excavation has progressed beyond this area. An average passenger vehicle will not exceed this restriction.

Roads closed 50 metres east and north from corner.

LUTWYCHE / WINDSOR
Lutwyche Road
South bound Lutwyche Road has been realigned from Felix Street to Bradshaw Street.

Stoneleigh Lane closure
Stoneleigh Lane is closed until mid 2012 for construction of the Northern Busway (Windsor to Kedron).

Bus stop 18 - Fuller St was scheduled to close from late January 2010. Details of this closure are currently being revised.
Access to Norman Avenue
The right turn from Lutwyche Road (southbound) to Norman Avenue is closed. Motorists can detour via Kedron Park Road.

Changes to Perry Street Access
The right turn from Norman Avenue to Perry Street is closed. Motorists can perform a u-turn in the Norman Avenue cul-de-sac and turn left into Perry Street.
Bradshaw Street east closed
Bradshaw Street, east of Lutwyche Rd has closed permanently to traffic for construction and operation of the new Lutwyche Busway Station. Motorists and pedestrians can detour via Chalk Street and the surround road network.

Bus stop 21 outbound, Felix Street - Closed
Passengers are advised to access northbound routes from Bus Stop 22 - Norman Street and Bus Stop 20 - Thistle Avenue.

Bus stop 22 outbound, Norman Street
This bus stop has been relocated 30 metres south of the Norman Avenue/ Lutwyche Road intersection.

Truro Street from Stoneleigh Street to Annie Street
150 metre extension of two existing south bound lanes of traffic on Lutwyche Road from Chalk Street to Annie Street including relocation of T3 transit lane to commence 100 metres south of Albion Road intersection, Windsor.
These changed traffic conditions will be in place for the duration of the project (mid 2012).

KEDRON
Swan Street
From early February 2010, Swan Street will close between Gympie Road and Jack Road for approximately three months. This closure will be completed in three stages:
Stage 1 - Closure from Gympie Road to Goulburn Street. Access to and from Goulburn Street will be via Rose Lane.
Stage 2 - Closure from Goulburn Street to Suez Street. Access to and from Suez Street will be via Gympie Road.
Stage 3 - Closure from Suez Street to Jack Street. Access to and from Jack Street will be via Jack Street.
Kedron Brook Pathway
The Kedron Brook Pathway will be detoured to the northern bank of the Kedron Brook. Access to Gympie Road and the Kedron Brook bus stop is via the northern bank.

Changed Traffic Conditions. During the coming months, changes will be made to Lutwyche Road and the local road and footpath network to maintain safe access for residents, pedestrians and motorists throughout construction of the Airport Link and Northern Busway (Windsor to Kedron).

Gympie Road
Temporary realignment of north bound traffic between Leckie Road and Somerset Road
South bound Gympie Road has been reduced from three to two lanes for approximately 350 metres from south of Somerset Road to north of Leckie Road.
Arnott Street
Permanent closure at Leckie Road. Access to and from Leckie Road will be via Glen Kedron Lane.
From 18 February 2010.
Somerset Road
Temporarily closed at Gympie Road for approximately six months. Access to and from Gympie Road will be via the surrounding network.
From 4 December 2009.
Broughton Road
Temporarily closed at Gympie Road for approximately six months. Access to and from Gympie Road will be via the surrounding network.
From 4 December 2009.
Cremorne Road
A right turn from Gympie Road will be introduced for the duration of the project's construction.
From mid November 2009.
Bus stop 26/24 inbound, Leckie Road - relocated
Approximately 30 metres south, opposite Brookfield Road.
Bus stop 26 outbound, Broughton Road - closed
Bus services will be available from bus stop 25 (outbound) located south of Brookfield road.

Leckie Road
Tempoary closure of the left turn from Gympie Road. Access from Gympie Road is via Sadlier Street.
Park Terrace
Temporarily closed at Gympie Road. Access to and from Gympie Road will be via Leckie Road.

Lasseter Street will close permanently to traffic for construction and operation of the Airport Link Project.

TOOMBUL
Widdop Street
Construction of a temporary signalised intersection is underway at Widdop Street, north of the East West Arterial Bridge. The intersection will allow construction vehicles to cross Widdop Street to a purpose built construction access road.
Subject to road authority approval this intersection will be operational from late November 2009.
Sandgate Road
North and south bound traffic will be realigned from East West Arterial Road to Centro Toombul. From Wednesday 9 July 2009.AIRPORT ROUNDABOUT UPGRADE
Height restriction
Restriction: Five metre height restriction for vehicles travelling east through the Airport Roundabout.
Detour: Access the northbound on-ramp from the airport roundabout and/or continue north to the Toombul Road roundabout to access the southbound on-ramp to the Gateway Motorway before taking the Airport Drive exit.

Airport Roundabout
Closures and detours of sections of the Airport Roundabout and Gateway Motorway are necessary throughout November. The necessary closures and detours detailed below will vary. Daily notification will be via electronic message boards and SMS.
Changed traffic conditions will be in place between 10pm and 4am during the month.
Closure: Gateway Motorway northbound off-ramp to the Airport Roundabout and East West Arterial Road
Detour: Continue north to the Toombul Road off-ramp and access the south bound on-ramp to the Motorway before taking the Airport Drive exit

Detour: Travel south on the Gateway Motorway and exit to Kingsford Smith Drive. Access north bound Gateway Motorway from Kingsford Smith Drive and exit and the Airport Roundabout off-ramp.

Closure: Airport Roundabout north bound circulating lanes
Detour: Travel south on the Gateway Motorway and exit to Kingsford Smith Drive. Access northbound Gateway Motorway from Kingsford Smith Drive and exit at the Airport Roundabout off-ramp before proceeding along East West Arterial Road.
Turn right from East West Arterial Road to Nudgee Road and Toombul Road to access the next north bound Gateway Motorway on-ramp.

Closure: Airport Roundabout east bound circulating lanes to Airport
Detour: Turn left to Nudgee Road, right to Toombul Road and access the south bound on-ramp to the Motorway before taking the Airport Drive exit.

Nudgee Road
The left turn slip lane from southbound Nudgee Road to eastbound East West Arterial Road will close. The left turn will be via the kerbside lane.

East West Arterial Road
East West Arterial will divert south from Nudgee Road to Hedley Avenue from 16 November 2009.
Barriers have been installed on the westbound shoulder of the East West Arterial Road.

Bus stop - Nudgee Rd (westbound) will be relocated west toward Hedley Ave from 16 November 2009.
Bus stop - Nudgee Rd (eastbound) will be relocated 150m east from 21 October 2009.
There will be no changes to the routes servicing this bus stop as a result of these changes.
Gateway Motorway
The off ramp to the airport roundabout will be realigned from Saturday 7 November 2009.
The on ramp from the airport roundbaout has been realigned west.
Barriers will be installed on the western on and off ramps at the airport roundabout.
