Traffic Changes
Select a precinct from the map below to view current changes on roads, pathways and bus routes along the project alignment.
Temporary changes to traffic conditions will be clearly marked for all road users and managed through traffic control.
Extensive traffic analysis and time travel surveys are conducted by Thiess John Holland to ensure traffic flow and capacity is maintained throughout construction of the projects.

BOWEN HILLS
Lutwyche Road changes
Lutwyche Road northbound has been temporarily reduced to three lanes between Northey Street and Newmarket Road.

The southbound, kerbside lane of Lutwyche Road is closed from Cartwright Street to the Inner City Bypass on-ramp.

Inner City Bypass changes
Changes to the Inner City Bypass on and off ramps from Lutwyche Road will include:
- On ramp: Realignment of the single lane to the right
- Off ramp: Closure of the right-hand lane.

Lutwyche Road/Federation Street intersection access changes
The traffic signals at the intersection of Federation Street and Lutwyche Road have been decomissioned.
The following access changes have been implemented:
- No right turn from Federation Street to Lutwyche Road northbound. A detour will be in place for northbound traffic (refer to map)
- Pedestrians and cyclists wishing to cross Lutwyche Road to do so via the Newmarket Road
intersection (refer to map)
- The left turn to Lutwyche Road southbound and from Lutwyche Road into Federation Street will be maintained.
This change will be in place for approximately 7 months, at which time the new Gallway Street intersection will open and the right turn to Lutwyche Road northbound will be reinstated.

Federation and Addison Streets, Windsor
Roads closed 50 metres east and north from the corner - from January 2009 to 2012.
LUTWYCHE / WINDSOR
Lutwyche Road realignment
Lutwyche Road will be moved on to its final alignment between Bradshaw and Isedale Streets from July 2010.

Lutwyche Road – widening
Lutwyche Road is being widened between Fuller and Fosbery Streets. This work will also result in the temporary closure of Fosbery Street until mid 2011.

Stoneleigh Lane closure
Stoneleigh Lane is closed until mid 2012 for construction of the Northern Busway (Windsor to Kedron).

Bus stop 18 - Fuller St will be closed from June 2010.
Access to Norman Avenue
The right turn from Lutwyche Road (southbound) to Norman Avenue is closed. Motorists can detour via Kedron Park Road.

Changes to Perry Street Access
The right turn from Norman Avenue to Perry Street is closed. Motorists can perform a u-turn in the Norman Avenue cul-de-sac and turn left into Perry Street.
Bradshaw Street east closed
Bradshaw Street, east of Lutwyche Rd has closed permanently to traffic for construction and operation of the new Lutwyche Busway Station. Motorists and pedestrians can detour via Chalk Street and the surround road network.

Bus stop 21 outbound, Felix Street - Closed
Passengers are advised to access northbound routes from Bus Stop 22 - Norman Street and Bus Stop 20 - Thistle Avenue.
From Mid June 2009
Bus stop 22 outbound, Norman Street
This bus stop has been relocated 30 metres south of the Norman Avenue/ Lutwyche Road intersection.

Pathway Changes
Lutwyche Road western footpath is closed. Detour via the eastern footpath accessible at the Chalk St, Norman Ave and Kedron Park Rd signalised intersections.
Bradshaw St northern footpath is closed. Detour via the southern footpath.
Bradshaw St signalised pedestrian crossing is closed. Detour via signallised pedestrian crossings located at Chalk St, Norman Ave and Kedron Park Rd.
KEDRON
Norman Avenue
Access from Lutwyche Road and Norman Street into Norman Avenuw will be temporarily closed from 12 July 2010 for approximately one year.
Swan Street
From early February 2010, Swan Street will close between Gympie Road and Jack Road for approximately three months. This closure will be completed in three stages:
- Stage 1: Complete
- Stage 2: Complete
- Stage 3: Closed in July for approximately 2 weeks
Somerset Road
Temporarily reopened from 5 June 2010 for approximately 2 months.
Homebush Road and Brookfield Road
Closed until mid 2011.
Gympie Road
Temporary realignment of northbound traffic between Leckie Road and Somerset Road
Southbound Gympie Road has been reduced from three to two lanes for approximately 350m from south of Somerset Road to north of Leckie Road.
Arnott Street
Permanent closure at Leckie Road. Access to and from Leckie Road will be via Glen Kedron Lane.
Cremorne Road
A right turn from Gympie Road has been introduced for the duration of the project's construction.
Leckie Road
Temporary closure of the left turn from Gympie Road. Access from Gympie Road is via Sadlier Street.
Park Terrace
Temporarily closed at Gympie Road. Access to and from Gympie Road will be via Leckie Road.
Lasseter Street
Lasseter Street has permanently closed to traffic for construction and operation of the Airport Link Project.

Kedron Brook Pathway
The Kedron Brook Pathway is detoured to the northern bank of the Kedron Brook. Access to Gympie Road and the Kedron Brook bus stop is via the northern bank.

Bus Stop Changes
Bus Stop 29 (Rose Street) - relocated
From Friday 25 June to Monday 12 July 2010, Bus Stop 29 will be temporarily relocated to a stop outside 75 Kent Road (far side Rawson Street) due to construction of the Northern Busway.

Bus Stop 28 (Gorman Street) and Bus Stop 27 (Park Road)
Temporarily relocated to a combined stop outside 5 Kent Road (approaching McIntyre Street) due to construction of the Northern Busway.

Bus stop 26 outbound (Broughton Road) - closed
Bus services will be available from bus stop 25 (outbound) located south of Brookfield Road.
TOOMBUL
Widdop Street / East West Arterial Road
Lane closures and reduced speed are in place on East West Arterial Road above Widdop Street - from 21 June to approx 19 July 2010.

Widdop Street
A temporary signalised intersection is in operation at Widdop Street, north of the East West Arterial bridge. This intersection allows construction vehicles to cross Widdop Street to a purpose built construction access road.
Pathway Changes
The Widdop Street western footpath is temporarily closed. Footpath users to detour via the eastern footpath.
Schulz Canal pathway will be closed from 6.30am Monday each week. This footpath will reopen each Friday at 6.30pm. Pathway users will detour via the Centro Toombul siganlised crossing.
Sandgate Road western footpath closed in mid-September 2009. Pedestrians are to detour via the eastern footpath at the Centro Toombul or Kalinga Street signalised crossing.

Kalinga Park pathway between Diggers' Dve, Jackson St, Stuckey Rd, Sandgate Rd and Widdop St is closed. Pedestrians and cyclists will detour via the Schulz Canal Northern Pathway and Sandgate Rd and/or Kedron St and Kalinga St.

AIRPORT ROUNDABOUT UPGRADE
Old Gateway Motorway demolition - Airport Roundabout detours
Closures and detours of sections of the Airport Roundabout are necessary throughout June 2010 to enable demolition of the old Gateway Motorway overpass. Click here for more information. Nudgee Road
The left turn slip lane from southbound Nudgee Road to eastbound East West Arterial Road has closed - left turn is via the kerbside lane.
Bus stop - Nudgee Rd (westbound) has been relocated west toward Hedley Ave
Bus stop - Nudgee Rd (eastbound) has been relocated 150m east
There will be no changes to the routes servicing this bus stop as a result of these changes.
